So Christmas is over, full bellies, lots of laughs and wonderful to spend it in Scotland with family. I hope you had an enjoyable festive season with your family.
It looks like my friends in South Africa have been enjoying the hot summer weather. Yes, I am a little jealous but I do prefer a cold Christmas. It’s been very cold over the last few days with temperatures only reaching 2 or 3c during the day. Good news is that the winter solstice has gone which means we know get two minutes of extra sunlight everyday.
It’s been a relaxing time and we still have a good few days to go before we head home to the Isle of Man.
We popped out to Carlisle the other day and visited The Lanes, shopping centre. We don’t have many shops on the Isle of Man so whenever we get the chance it’s great to do a little retail therapy. I walked into HMV and I was blown away by the amount of records they had for sale. I saw records from The Smiths and Joy Division which was pressed on heavy duty vinyl. I had so many flashbacks in that store and I could of browsed for hours. They even had some nice turntables for sale, no Technics. Oh such memories!
This morning we woke up to a winter wonderland with a dusting of snow. How awesome! It’s expected to last until around midday. It is so amazing to get some snow on our holiday. So today it’s some fun in the snow and a roaring fire. What could be better than this surrounded with family.
Enjoy the last few days of 2017.
